With a new generation of children learning to appreciate the superheroes of the past,
Captain America: Super Soldier is bound to become one of the most talked about games with youngsters and adults alike. Rated T for teens, the game is not suitable for very young children; Captain America has Evil to battle and the war will not be pretty!
The game allows players to become Captain America. Wearing his legendary costume and carrying his shield, gamers battle a host of enemies. Iron Cross, Red Skull and Madame Hydra are among the Forces of Hydra who are on the hunt for Captain America. The hero has to defeat an evil scientist by fighting his way into the mysterious Hydra castle. This combat forces the game’s player to use every attack and special power imaginable to defeat the foes.
The graphics are brilliantly sharp and vital. Backgrounds range from city streets to evil laboratories, brimming with strange scientific equipment. The scenery is detailed and eye-catching without distracting the player from the actual game. Some of the comic book influences can be seen in scenery styling and comic book aficionados will love the attention to detail and the homage to the original comics.
The fighting sequences are rendered in even more detail than the scenery. Captain America is able to use his iconic shield for defensive and offensive maneuvers. The shield can deflect bullets and knock down enemies while the Captain uses his peak physical conditioning to leap from balconies and railings. Players of the game enjoy leaping from the rafters or free-falling through a ceiling along with the standard jumps and kicks. The game is thrilling for both adults and teens, without being so violent that gamers are distracted by any gore.
Captain America: Super Soldier coincides with the release of Captain America’s newest movie. The hero, with his combat sense, is a nimble and athletic as any fan would have imagined him. His strikes can be devastating against a single enemy, but the game actually allows for combat with several enemies at once. This creates battles which are exhausting to finish but leave the player with a real feeling of living within the game.
The combination of tough enemies and a rich story work together to create a game that has the power to keep a player engaged for hours at a time.
Captain America: Super Soldier has something that is missing in many of today’s games, it has a patriotic heart. Even for teenagers without any background in comic books or superhero worship, Captain America is a brilliant game. Adults will appreciate the character’s rich history and teens will enjoy his ferocious combat style. Captain America: Super Soldier is a video game that has brilliant timing, spectacular effects and nostalgic superhero style.
